Machias Savings Bank – The Old Port, Portland Maine

The Design Challenge: To connect the brand to the culture and style of its downtown Portland,
Maine location.

The branch location in the busy “Old Port” district of Portland made it necessary for the new
design to attract the area’s young, sophisticated demographic. The bank interior design project
involved the complete renovation of a historic building, which was formerly the Casco Mercantile
Trust Company Building. In order to modernize the space, elements of the Old Port’s unique
style and color palette were incorporated in a clean, modern layout; resulting in an attractive
space that will stand the test of time.
