Five County Federal Credit Union, Bath Maine

The Design Challenge 

To modernize Five County Credit Union’s primary branch and operations center, refreshing and updating the retail lobby space with a complete redesign.

Having completed the redesign of Five County Credit Union’s Yarmouth branch a few years ago, we worked to incorporate the same rich color palette in the Bath branch, creating a consistent brand aesthetic and style. This credit union design project challenged us to rework the branch’s existing footprint to allow for new and functional spaces designed for improved flow and member experience. Our design facilitated the addition of a new member-facing conference room, new offices, check desk, greeter station, improved drive up, and a compact hybrid teller pod that could fit between existing columns. We used a series of curves and rounded shapes to ungulate through the lobby, improving flow. This technique was largely accomplished by mimicking the same sweeping curves of the ceiling in a new carpet layout.
